My name is Catherine Smith of
Natick Massachusetts.
I met Esther in the Summer of
1994. We became close friends and enjoyed each other's company
immensely. I became Esther's personal secretary and house-keeper
in May of 1995 after she had escaped from her daughter Harriet's first
kid-nap attempt.
I was very pleased to learn from
Esther's friends and relatives that she had come to regard
me as a daughter. After the Probate Court kidnapping by pretense July 7,
1995, I still managed to attend to Esther on a daily basis, to the
extent I was allowed, until May of 1996 when Carol Mackay began to
harass me and limit the number of days and times during the week when
Esther could have a visit. I will state under oath that Esther expressed
to me her absolute distaste for Carol Mackay and knew that Carol was
only there to be Harriet's agent to disrupt her life.
Directly due to Carol and
Harriet's misrepresentations of my visits with Esther, all visits were
suspended in April of 1997, even though I had a Court Order allowing me
a visit every day. The Waltham Police and the Probate Court refused to
uphold the Court Order.
Officer Al Ryan's (re: affidavit)
observations of October 1997 make clear the real reason for preventing
Esther from being allowed visits, i.e., 1) she enjoyed my visits, 2) my
visits were beneficial to her physical, emotional and spiritual well
being; and that is the true reason why my visits had to be eliminated
by Harriet Moore and Carol Mackay.
I try not to dwell on what
happened to my dear friend Esther because it is too emotionally
distressing for me. I am endeavoring to help Taylor Johnson in his
attempt to expose what happened to his mother. I am angry and
dumbfounded at all the state and city authorities who ignored Esther's
and my cries for help. They are still pretending and/or ignoring the
fact that this all occurred.
Please contact your local and state
representatives and ask them why nothing has been, or is being done.
